1. Are proteins more important than other nutrients like carbohydrates or fat?

An average woman needs 46g and an average man needs 56g of protein per day. Bodybuilders who wish to gain muscle mass should consider consuming 1.5g-2.0g of protein per pound of their current bodyweight per day.
